The same below), and the annual objectives of the village to village project have been achieved as a whole.
The Ministry of industry and information technology disclosed that in terms of telephone communication in natural villages, the construction of communication facilities in 30124 non telephone natural villages (more than 20 households, the same below) has been completed during the year. The proportion of telephone communication in natural villages across the country has reached 92.4%, and all natural villages in eight provinces have been connected by telephone.
In terms of telephone access to administrative villages: on the basis of telephone access to all administrative villages in 29 provinces in China, 641 and 681 remote administrative villages were completed in Sichuan and Tibet respectively in 2008, and the proportion of telephone access to administrative villages in China increased to 99.7%. In addition, it has also opened telephones for 952 companies of agricultural reclamation corps, farms, forestry farms and mines in Xinjiang, Heilongjiang and other places.
In terms of rural Internet construction, 431 villages and towns will be provided with internet access and 409 villages and towns will be opened with broadband access this year, so that 97% of the villages and towns in China can access the Internet and 95% of the villages and towns can access broadband; In 27 provinces, "rural access to the Internet" has become a reality. At the same time, 12103 administrative villages were opened to the Internet during the year. The proportion of administrative villages that can access the Internet in China reached 88%. 17 provinces have basically realized that "villages can access the Internet".
At the same time, the Ministry of industry and information technology pointed out that the village to village project contributed to stimulating domestic demand. In 2008, the project construction investment was 12.2 billion yuan, more than 99.5% of the funds were used in the domestic market, and less than 60 million yuan was used for imported equipment. The majority of domestic equipment manufacturers have actively developed low-cost and practical information and communication products suitable for rural characteristics, such as SCDMA Wireless Access system, broadband set-top box, rural information machine, "point-to-point communication", cheap computer and mobile phone, etc. This not only meets the needs of rural areas, but also creates opportunities for the manufacturing industry to resist the current economic crisis, and reduces the project cost for operating enterprises.
